Do you remember the childhood toy, Jack in the Box, or am I dating myself here?

You know, the colourful small box, with the handle on the side. You wound it up, it played some song, "Pop goes the Weasel", and then when you least expected it, the top popped open and up jumped the clown puppet.
Well, Quinn, our '05 Candy Cane, the other half of the pair from Simon's last breeding here in Canada, is our "Jack". Quinn's a burrower, and I'm sure if I provided him with a foot of aspen in his tub, he'd still go to the very bottom.
Feeding days are fun with Quinn. You just have to be prepared! Moving his aspen is like winding up the 'box'...you just never know when you are going to see the 'red and white' clown bolt upright from the substrate...but unlike the toy...he's not attached, so he will just keep going. After a few little chases around the snake room, I've learned my lesson...he gets the tallest tub in the snake room. At least that gives me a few extra seconds before he can get over the side.
As for colouration, he seems to have picked up a little yellow in the head and throat area. He is not as stark white as Echo, his eventual partner, but I'm sure with some selection among any hatchlings these two may produce, I'll be able to weed out that yellow thru time.
Here's Jack....Quinn....
