If you decide to breed to a corn, I would breed to the undersized classic, I had a 100 g lav mot tag an adult 500g female a couple times this year.
About hybrids, it is tuff, I have never done it personally, but I believe it is better to go male corn to female king, something about male kings having spurs on their hemipenis that could hurt the corn. I have also heard a good way to do this is tape (with electrical tape) a 35 mm film canister over the head of the female king. Just make sure there is a hole for air.
