Personally, I see no problem with this. Its like putting the female in a dark room for breeding. She cant see (or eat) the one breeding her, that in no way should affect the outcome of the breeding.
It is unsafe to breed a male cal king to a female corn, that is an established fact, the only other way to cross the two species a male corn to a female cal king. Cal kings (or any getula for that matter) have a great feeding response and usually must be muzzled in order to allow a male of a different species to breed it.
Great looking snake, you should have some really cool offspring. Now, if I can get my corn to breed my female cali I would be happy.
