I do however, have some questions. I am thinking of rehousing Lenny as he is growing like a sprout. I would like to put him in an Exo-Terra 18x18x18 (with the front doors) and I am just wondering if this would be big enough for him. Are corns like goldfish, and they will only grow as big as their home permits?

Thanks all for your input. I hope there is a show out west sometime soon (Alberta) so I can see all the snakeys again!
I have my two little ones (they are not quite a foot long each) in the 18X18X18 enclosures that you are talking about. They will be ok in there until they are about a year old. I have my 7 month old snake (still a juvie I guess) in an 18x18x24 (the dimensions may not be right, but it's "longer" that it is deep or tall. Of course when we move them will depend on their growth rate, and not just their age.

As they get bigger, we will need to put each of them in a larger enclosure. I think someone told me the rule of thumb was if the length of the tank is around half the length of the snake, it's time to move them into a bigger home. But that also depends on how much exercise the snake gets too. I have known people to have a 5.5 foot corn in a 100 gallon tank (and the corn was 21 years old even!).
