That said, my budget just ain't what is used to be, and I can't afford the DSLR that I've been jonesing for. I had a hand-me-down Digital Rebel XT for a very short while around Christmas/New Year's, but sold it about three months ago; and like all good comedy, I finally got a job just after I sold it.

So it was back to the 2.1 MPX Kodak point and shoot for me, until yesterday. I was fed up with the performance of it (my recent photos of Louise were a new low), and chose to get a PowerShot A630 at Wally World; 8 mpx, light enough to schlep everywhere, and enough "bulk" to feel like Canon's old "T" series film SLRs. My only complaints are the lack of image stabilization, and a zoom that only takes you to a 35mm film equivalent of around a 140mm focal length.

And hey, it was Wally World. It was under $200.
