I have an 06 okeetee male that has been a great eater without regurges so far. However, he likes pinkies way too much.........and nothing else.
I think he has refused one time due to being blue, but all the other refused meals are 'cause he doesn't like hair I guess. I had tried black fuzzies and white fuzzies with no luck, so I always went back to multiple pinkies while gradually raising the quantity over this time period. After I had gotten up to 5 of them, I finally got him to take 2 rat pinkies and he successfully fed on them for three consecutive feedings.
Then, two weeks ago he refused his 2 rat pinkies for the first time so I let him wait until the next feeding the following week. He did the same thing again weekend before last and I counter-offered with another "waiting period" until this last weekends feeding feeling that for sure he would be quite hungry by then. Once again, he refused his rat pinkies after 5 hours alone, in the dark. So seeing how it had been 3 weeks since he last fed I thought I would at least have him eat something as I am not THAT cruel......I throw in 5 mice pinkies and they are gone within 10 minutes of me returning.
I tried to "hold out" and make him follow my feeding plan........but right now he is winning the battle. Just wondering if anybody has seen this before or have what may be a cure for the situation.
