Oh good...i went back to see where I might have erroneously posted something
That's a great question.
I really like that on this site everyone is so free with names of people they are having good experiences with!
I have even wondered about how to correctly site information to give credit where credit is due.
For example...some of the information I am 'handing out' is my own experience, some is from vets (whom I have not had the greatest affinity for so they are un-named), other posters suggestions, and a lot of the information is from breeder sites and books and e-mail conversations.
If I am more or less quoting information from a book I say that...
But I think your interpretation is also mine. That unless yo uare on the BOI and the other party knows of the issue blah blah blah...it falls under the personal attack line.
I think it is difficult enough to decipher tone from a post sometimes ...
for example on "the other" corn site I got reemed for being mean and cryptic etc etc ...
I had said "thank you" to the poster in a reply and explained that for "some reason the 'add to reputation" button did not work. So thank you for the helpful information."
Apparently they thought I was being sarcastic...someone else jumped in and explained before I could that I was just saying thank you. The poster pm'd an apology and all is well.
I shared that because by virtue of the overall environment on some other sites it gets very touchy to reply at all. And I would be very sad to see that happen here.
