Question about Fires

In the CMG a Fire is described as double homo diffuse + amel.

I've also seen it described more specifically as bloodred + amel, with not all diffuse + amel qualifying as fire (just as not all diffuse qualify as bloodred).

Is it easy to tell a diffuse + amel from a bloodred + amel?

Opinions on whether a distinction should be made?
