I got my first snake yesterday. She is beautiful, 18 months old,and an albino creamsicle corn. I brought her home,and she immediately burrowed, and stayed hidden for the better part of 18 hours. I was really worried.She finally came out,and I went to pick her up,and she rared her head back.....so I decided against it.
The plan is to feed her, wait 24 hours,and try to pick her up. In the pet store I had no problems, but now that I have her home,I don't want to upset her,or pick her up if she has been traumatized. Please help.
Is this normal snake behavior? Should I try to pick her up anyway? How long should she take to acclimate to her new home? How can you tell if a snake doesn't want to be messed with?
I'm sure I will have a thousand more questions.....most of the info in the net seems to contradict itself.
