Work: Vet tech/receptionist
About Me: I love to read and study anything I'm interested in which includes, cornsnakes <obviously>, piercing and other body modification, ATV riding, 4x4ing. I of course participate in all those activities as well. I haven't had the time lately but I also enjoy doing agility with my retriever and attending assorted dogshows. If I can somehow scrape up the time I would love to go back to school to learn even more about the veterinary profession. I ADORE going to any seminar I can through work
My Corn Snake Story: I was in the pet industry for over 12 years and during that time I found a lot of "kids" that swore they loved animals yet when it came time to care for the reptiles, noone seemed to want to do it. I agonized when I saw that people would freak out if a cute little hamster got wet tail but think nothing of it if they saw a snake or lizard slowly starve or sit in a crusty dried up water bowl.
I of course just dug right in and took over managing the reptiles in all three shops, trying to educate customers AS WELL AS staff whenever I could. I wasn't able to keep a reptile of my own at home though as my mom had begged me to just follow two animal rules, no ferrets or herps

At least I was litterally with them and caring for them pretty much every day though, so it wasn't too hard of a rule to follow!
Well as soon as I moved in with my boyfriend <now hubby> I took home my first rescue ball python and was hooked! I ended up marrying, buying our own house etc. and of course eventually decided to have a child. While off on maternity I had decided that when returning to work I must "get a REAL job" so pushed to get in at a vet clinic.
While off though I just missed the snakes too much so I got myself a few corns. Well of course it all snowballed and the rest is HISTORY!
So glad to be here to participate in discussions and learn even more every day!
