hmmm, to me this is one of those things that if it ain't broke don't fix it. i use a 50/50 mix of perlite and vermiculite straight out of the bag. we do not add water since it is so humid down in southeast Louisiana it absorbs moisture on the shelf at the garden store we get it from. we just check it once a week and add water if needed(usually never). we had 100% hatch rate on the first of this year with our bearded dragons.
now if they come out with something to give them that gives better survival rates id be all for it.
