Expected this year

Today our second to last female laid her first clutch of the season. Now that her clutch is cookin' in the incubator, I figured I'd list some of the morphs we're expecting this year.

First to lay this year, was Tundra. She is our female Snow and she bred with Speedy, our male motley-stripe. The hets of both corns are unknown, so, all we can be sure to get is Normals, het anery, amel, motley, and stripe. I'm really hoping that she is het for motley or stripe and, it's certainly expected that he'll be het for either amel or anery. We have 22 eggs in this clutch.

Next to lay was Milton, our Anery het amel. She laid 16 eggs sired by Penn (Hypo het lavender, amel, anery). In this clutch we are expecting mostly Anerys and Normals, but a few Snows and Amels too.

Third to lay was our Normal het lavender, amel, hypo... Chelsey. She also bred with Penn and recently laid 11 eggs that should pop out mostly Hypos and Normals, but we're also hoping for one or two Lavenders, Hypo Lavenders, Hypo Amels, Amels and, if things go extremely well for us, an Opal or Hypo Opal would make my year for me.

Today, our Ghost, Quincy, laid 23 eggs. She was bred to Tucker Max, our other Ghost and, as a result, should give us 23 little Ghosts. I love the look of young ghosts, so I'm very happy about this clutch.

Finally, Maple is left to lay still and she is huge...I expect well over 20 eggs from her. She is our Normal het lavender, anery a, and hypo and she also bred with Penn. She just came out of her pre-natal blue and should shed pretty quick. In this clutch, I expect pretty much the same results that Chelsey should give us. We will certainly receive some Hypos and Normals and we should get one or two Hypo Lavenders, Lavenders, Ghosts, and Anerys and, if the odds work in our favour and really want to test my morph identifying skills, we could get a Ghost Lavender or an Anery Lavender.

So, in total, we have 72 eggs so far, with one first clutch remaining and, hopefully, a few double clutches to come.

Now, we are beginning to prepare for double clutches and for dozens of little hatchlings to start pipping. This is our biggest year yet for hatchlings and we're getting pretty excited. It'll be nice to start going to the shows again this year...August can't come soon enough!

I'm not sure...are you the person I gave my 180 gallon mesh cage to? If not, then no...I don't think we've met.

This morning I checked on Maple, my last female to lay her first clutch. So far, she's pushed out 12 healthy eggs with a few more to go. I guess once I get back from work, I'll have to check on the final tally.

I missed out on a mesh cage? Damnit. Yeah, I didn't think so either, but hey, never hurts to ask.

Congrats on the new clutch, that's awesome. Sounds like it's a great season for you!

Just a little update on Maple and Penn's clutch. I just got home from work and checked on her...she laid 20 healthy eggs...zero slugs. So, in a couple months, hopefully I have some lavenders pipping for me!
