BC Snake News in B.C.

Hi Caroline. First off, I managed to loose Cumin (the hypo het caramel) just under 2 weeks ago with him still not having eaten a thing since May. But, I found him yesterday when my little blood, Pomegranate went missing! Oi. Today he actually ate a fuzzy! Hurra! I think the heat and such did him good after being in my room unsupervised. Now I just have to find that blood red...

Oleander (amel emoryi) is looking fantastic and has shed twice since I got her from you. I love her occasional hisses - such spunk! I wish emoryi came in as many colours as corns do now, hehe. If you want to move this to another forum feel free. I wasn't sure if it was ok to post in here

Hehe seems like he needed a little stress to start eating again. I am glad you found him back and he is eating again. He always ate well for me and is a real beauty. Don't forget to post pics of both.

And thanks for sharing. We generally don't have feedback of the snakes we sell and I love seeing update pictures.

Oh and good luck finding your bloodred.

Cumin broke out again about 3 days after that post! He turned up almost 2 weeks later upstairs...other people rent the upstairs... we had a knock on our door at midnight about a snake in their hallway XD

I finally found Pomegranate a few days ago. She was drapped over the top of my microwave first thing in the morning @___@!! I have no idea where her shed is but I found 2 poops of hers to clean up on my bedroom carpet ~__~!!

Hiya Caroline. My butter, Lyra, went missing but so far no escapes after her. The cat found her near the litter box and had a fit of surprise. Jumped backwards knocking a bunch of stuff over. I am having an issue with Oleander though; the albino emoryi.

She has so far refused to eat for the past 5 feedings. She spends all her time cruising back and foreth. I tried a live weanling with her on Tuesday and she killed it, then went back to cruising. Does she want to hibernate or something? This is the only suggestion I've gotten recently. I tried taking off the heat but then she sat where it's usually warm and glared at me for a few hours till I turned it back on. Any ideas?

Glad Lyra is staying in her tub lol. For Oleander, is anything changed since she stop eating?

Well, she went into shed and stopped eating then (she usually eats through shed however). After that she ahs kept on refusing. Only thing that's changed is the weather outside. Starting to get colder. Everything in her tank and the room has stayed consistant. Though I did give her a larger water dish. I think that was after this started though.

P.S. I do have lids on bins and tanks. The duct tape wasn't as good as I had hoped it would be however...now I have electrical tape over the duct tape and all seems good.

She could be self-brumating herself since the temps and daylight hours are changing........natural instinct.

Yeah it could be that and if she can see outside, the fact that the days have less light hours than before. I have some doing that even if they don't see outside...
