WAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
I was beginning to feel left out, with all the eggs popping up lately.
The participants:
Ruby: Bloodred female het charcoal
To'Mater: Normal het bloodred, anery, hypo
This morning when I checked on her, she had 3 eggies...when I went back to snag a couple pics she had #4 and 5 as I watched. Now I will be leaving her alone to do her business in peace. I'll check on her after dinner.
The process of egg laying:
Thanks for looking. Wish me luck with this one. Last season, she became eggbound and the eggs had to be aspirated before she could pass them. ( previous owner) This season, I had exercised her quite regularly, and paired her with a different, younger male, in hopes that we avoid the eggbinding. If she happens to become eggbound again, she will be given a year off and possibly retired as a breeder. She's a 2002, weighing in at close to 700gr. So size and age are not a reason for the eggbinding issues last year. I'm hoping it was just a muscle tone issue, which I worked at rectifying for this season.
