That darned murphy again...

Seems like destiny has a problem with me producing my own butters. First clutch was not a butter crossing, and her last two clutches were slugs. Then the female developed a very fussy eating habit. So, I sold her off and picked up another female here in Duluth that was the same age (give or take a year..unsure) that was also produced at Serpenco. So I bred her and bam! 11 nice fat fertile eggs! Well, that was april 21st and I have checled on them several times since including a candling a week after they were laid. All were growing well. So anyway, I opened the container today during snake chores in order to get some air exchange. I was greeted by a bad stink and half a clutch of rainbow colored moldy eggs. Good grief! I'm never gonna get to hatch out my own butters. I have always used perlit with the exceptipn of my 1st two corn clutches and never had any problems. Well anyway, I hear that hatch right is supposed to worrk very well for hatching and increasing hatch rates so I cracked open a bag of it that I've had laying around for quite a while. I picked out the eggs that looked the best and put them in a new container with hatch rite and a second container with the questionable eggs that I was unsure of. Obviusly the rotten eggs were siposed of. I still have eight eggs left. Four looking very good and 4 kinda iffy. Cross your fingers for me that all goes well. I really want to hatch some of my own butters. At least I still have the buttercream project going, so I should eventually make some yellow snakes of my own. Thanks for reading my ramble. Later all.

Scott
