Sperm Retention?
I mated my snakes back in march and I'm not seeing sings that may be indicating that my girl is once again gravid. The thing is, she's only mated with the male a few times and it was months ago. She's beginning to balloon again and she's very squishy for about two thirds of her body. I'm just wondering why she would decide to use up so of that stored up sperm. I mean, I'm not positive that she's gravid, but she looks bigger and she is most definitely squishier. My other dilemma is that I have no idea when she might lay the eggs. I can go by sheds, but that isn't always fool-proof. Has anyone here every experienced sperm retention?
