Amel het caramel stripe anyone?

Hi everyone.

Ok, so you know I bought a beautiful Amel het carmel stripe from Annette at the Edmonton reptile show. It's a male.
I want to get a female with the same gene combination. I like the idea of possibly (like what 1/32 LOL) getting a caramel stripe, caramels in general and amel stripes that would be het caramel from the breeding.

I know I can't get anything from the states, and I have no friends (really I have NO Friends they are all afraid of the snakes LOL) south of the border. So I am asking all the Canadian breeders here on this site if they expect any female amel het caramel stripes in the fall? I would go with a caramel stripe, but I don't want to dilute the genes that my snake already has. (I don't know what I am talking about remember? But I have the 2007 Morph book though so hopefully I will start to catch on.)

And if you are, are you planning on appearing at any of the shows here in Alberta in the fall?

Thanks for your help ladies (and Matt ).

Hello Yvonne,

If you breed you amel het caramel striped to the same, you could have these:

9/16 amel
3/16 butter
3/16 amel striped
1/16 butter striped

If you breed her to an amel striped het caramel:

3/8 amel
1/8 butter
3/8 amel striped
1/8 butter striped

If you breed her to a caramel het amel striped instead, you could have these:

3/16 normal
3/16 caramel
3/16 amel
1/16 striped
3/16 butter
1/16 caramel striped
1/16 amel striped
1/16 butter striped

And to a caramel striped het amel:

1/8 normal
1/8 caramel
1/8 amel
1/8 striped
1/8 butter
1/8 caramel striped
1/8 amel striped
1/8 butter striped

So what would you prefer? I should produce all 4 this year.

Caroline has many combinations you would get a great baby from - if you want stripes - she has some great bloodlines.

If by any chance you are interested in an amel het caramel and motley instead of stripe - let me know. I have one female holdback left from my butter female and an amel motley male - produced in 2006. The motley and striped genes work together and it can be possible to produce motley, striped and striped motley in clutches where they are combined. I am not sure whether the motley sire of this clutch had striped in his backgound or not - so if you want to be sure of stipes, it would be better to wait for something from Caroline or another breeder with stripes.

Just thought I would let you know because I am headed to Edmonton next month and could deliver if you were interested. Her photo is labeled Daikon in this ad - Proven female and '06 corns, creams, etc.. Her parent's photos are in this thread 2006 Butter X Amel Motley.

Hey, thank you Mary. I am on a list with Caroline for a caramel het amel stripe female. And I am also paying close attention to Ruth's hatchlings . I am going to try to repress my sudden urges and wait until the fall show in Red Deer before I pick up another snake. Although that female is very tempting. Lovely looking girl.

I am going to try to get this reproduction of stripe in a butter hopefully first before I "tackle" combining the motley....One small step for Von...

Glad to hear you have some new additions lined up - I am sure you will be very happy with hatchlings from Caroline and Ruth - some excellent bloodlines!!

I can relate to having to supress the urge to buy more!! It is an ongoing challenge - the Winnipeg show is in a couple weeks and I know I am going to be tempted there!!

Look forward to meeting you in Red Deer -
