I've recently discovered the remains of a regurged meal in my snake's cage. Upon closer inspection under my lighted magnifying glass it looked more like a stretched ball of fur. Is it normal for a cornsnake to regurgitate a hairball from a meal? I didn't notice any fowl stench and I monitor his cage ragularly.
When did you last feed your snake? What are the temps in your snake's cage?
In my experience, 99% of all regurges smell horrid. That 1% usually happens close enough to the ingestion of the mouse than decomposition/digestion hasn't really taken place and no smell is really detected.
Hair is indigestible to most everything, and to see hair pooped out with the feces isn't all that uncommon. Sometimes when I'm cleaning cages out and I find an old poop down at the bottom under the substrate, it'll look like a hairball as the moisture will have evaporated off and all that's left is powdery fecal remnants and hair.
If you could provide a picture of it, we could tell for certain whether or not it was a regurge or a poop.
To answer your question though, corns and snakes in general don't regurge hairballs or pellets like say an owl would. So no, they don't regurgitate a hairball after eating, it just passes right through them.
His last feeding was a large pinkie starting into the fuzzy stage. It's been his largest meal so far. What your saying does make sense. I've been searchig for his last poop since that meal and that is what i have found so far.
Next time I see another one like this I'll snap a pic before I throw it away.
