The incubating medium is vermiculite.

Don't worry, they're scheduling pipping time for this evening, probably about 30 seconds after I leave for work.

I hope everything is ok and they just making sure they are strong enought to come out. I stayed up till 4am , staring at what I thought was a pipping egg, only for it to be possibly dirt? I been comparing photos to see if any change.... .I cant wait...come on lil guys !!!! I wanna see what they are going to look like

Heh, incubation lengths vary with temps. The temps were a little lower this year than last, esp the first half of incubation, so it's not surprising they're taking a little long. We usually have them pip somewhere between 65 and 70 days, anyway.

Don't worry, you won't miss it. They usually have a "scout" pip first, sit there with a nose out for 24 hours before the rest start in. It takes them a good 24 hours to come out of the egg, until then they sit there letting their lungs work while absorbing the last of their yolk. Egg cam is good for newbies, especially, to get a feel for how long it really does take them so they don't make the mistake of chasing them out of the egg too soon.

I'm excited to see how well the new egg cam does with showing them babies rather than just dark smudges on a blurry background.

thanks for the info. I have learned to leave em be and let nature do its thing already tho. When I was a kid, I got impatient with a chicken egg. I could hear it chirping, so I helped it out of its egg. oops! it had not absorbed its yolk, and I killed it. I was about 9yrs old or younger, felt awful. But I learned not to rush a good thing. I have been educating myself alot over the net on how to be a good mother to my snakes, and it is pretty easy getting mixed info. So far for getting any helpful info, I had the best experience here. Everyone has learned from trial and error and seems to know the ins and out to everything, it is awsome here!!
Good luck with ur babies, and I am going to keep watching. Can you see any of the eggs starting to move or wave??

It looks as though some of the eggs are beginning to dimple
