Ok, he just shededed. (and he just lightened by like 3 shades!)
And for the disclaimer: The motleys in this line are banded-types with very little saddle connection, and all the hatchlings (normals included) have (or tend toward) the skull head pattern so this is definitely one for breeding trials. There was a charcoal mot (2007-16-01) in the same clutch and the comparison (4610) looks like a good indicator. Check out the rest of the siblings too, they're all in there.

I think that goes both ways: there are probably snakes being called blood motleys that aren't.
