New Morphs of 2007

We all like to see the very first one of a kind morphs, but how do we really know they are the first? I guess we post a few and see if anybody has heard of any others. Do you have or know of a new one of a kind morph, or even perhaps just the second year they were ever produced?

I believe this Striped Avalanche (Striped Amel, Anery, Bloodred) is a new morph. Rich Hume produced several this year from a breeding of Striped Fire (Amel Bloodred) het Ghost (Hypo Anery) X Striped Fire het Anery ph Hypo.

How many genes can we stack, one on top of another, before enough is enough? I think this quad homo morph isn’t quite there yet. It is also possible that these are Striped Avalanche het/homo Hypo, but how would we know? I think we may get there from a Striped Ghost Blood het Amel X Striped Ghost Blood het Amel breeding.

I am already thinking about a Striped Champagne X Striped Avalanche breeding. It will not be adding another gene perhaps, but if we can move the pink coloration from the Champagne line to the Avalanche line, in will be an Avalanche at sunset, a pink sunset that is.

Striped Ghost Blood het Amel

How about another Rich Hume creation. He produced a few of these this year as well from a breeding of Striped Fire het Ghost X Granite (Anery Blood) het Striped Hypo breeding.

I picked up this group at the Hamm Show. (Amber Blood and Caramel Blood ph Hypo)

I don’t know about this one, so let me know if others that have been produced. I know I have seen Caramel Bloods, so there must be other Amber Bloods out there. When I was offered this male along with several female Caramel Bloods ph Hypo as a partial trade, I accepted quickly. I wanted to find some Caramel Bloods to breed to Lavas, especially the ones that are ph Butter Motleys, in hopes of getting a short cut to Topaz Bloods. I sure won’t mind it if I get lucky and produce some Amber Bloods along the way as well.

Those quad homo morphs ROCK!!! But I was always wondering, how do you price them, given the time, effort and luck you need to produce them?....
That would be really hard.

If I'm not wrong the first amber bloods were produced before that. From the same guy in Germany that your amber blood originates Josua. And some went to the U.S. from day one.I guess they are in projects already...

Joe I'm right next to you on the topaz blood project.I'll have my caramel blood female ready to breed next year, but not my lava male that I got from you this year.Too bad I'm too far away from everyone to have a breeding loan..

I knew I had seen Amber Bloods before, that is why I suggested that we post photos of some “newer” morphs from the last two or three years. I have a few Lava Lavs and Topaz I will post photos of, but they are not new, since they were produced before, but they are so new that they are not really available.

Things like Sulfurs, Sunkissed Lavs, Sunkissed Charcoals, Striped Ambers and others are still in the infancy stage of their development.

Christmas Corn (Xmas), Xmas Anery? and Anery siblings.

I do believe that I produced Xmas Anery Corns, but as you can see, they are not remarkable. They may stand out as being different from Ghost when they are mature. I can not believe that these are the first Xmas Anery since the first test that I found out about was a Xmas X Ghost, which produced Normals that would have been het for Xmas, Hypo and Anery. This first test of Xmas x Hypo was a quite awhile ago.

This is the first time that I have seen, hatched out or otherwise held a Xmas, and since Anery was known to be in the mix, it seems as if we are looking at an Xmas Anery. The Xmas and Xmas Anery are both males, but the Anery is a female. It is unfortunate, they are not all males for the comparison, but she is the only Anery in the clutch. The Normals were red, but just red Normal that were nothing like the Xmas.
