It was a pleasure to meet Ruth from Hanney's Corns. I didn't catch her hubbys name, but he was a treat as well. Ruth, you are so happy! I met Mary from La Creme as well. It was very early at the show, but she was already pretty busy. They both had beautiful babies and I know making a decision between their tables would have been a long and difficult decision. I didn't see Matt. Or at least I don't think I did. I did meet the gentleman from Herper's Delight. The aztecs he had there were simply awesome as well! There was also a table there with numerous morphs, one of which was a diffusion and whitesided. I hadn't much information on the whitesided gene. But I will be sure to do my research for next time. Lots of colubrids, lots of boids. I avoided the spiders and scorpions like the black plague.
Steve wanted a Ball Python, and I refused, numerous times. There were even times I had to drag him away from a table saying "No, No, No" again and again. Poor guy. He didn't get to have any fun at all.
Ok, pics will be forthcoming, as they have to settle in and whatnot. But I can tell you now, I am a VERY happy camper. What I planned to get, was not at all what I actually brought home.
I came home with a male and female Abbott Okeetee from Triple R Corns (Thanks Rebecca for your patience with me). She had bought them from Lee Abbott, and brought the whole bunch with her to Red Deer. I also came home with a male Granite bred by Rich Hume, also purchased from Triple R. I was expecting to get albino Jungles, and some creamsicles, but when I saw the diffusion on the granites, and the baby okeetees, my mind was made up. The only problem with the day was that the bank machine wouldn't let me take out more than 400 bucks .
I promise I will post pics when everyone has settled in, if I can wait that long.
Again, a big big thanks to Rebecca. I was like a kid in a candy store, suffering from severe ADD. The people at the table next to Triple R were laughing at me while I did a happy dance once I had picked out my okeetee pair. Thanks Rebecca for bringing these from the states so that the rest of us can enjoy their beauty.
And a big thanks to my boyfriend Steve. He was very supportive, and patient. Maybe some day I will repay him and let him get a boa. That's if there is any room left in the house.
