Hee hee I'm always cold! Part reptile don't 'cha know?! Guess noone got pictures of me sitting, standing, or acting like a rotissarie chicken next to the fire!

WHAT AN AWESOME TIME! Matt, can't believe you didn't come back to take a picture of me with the display! lol! I was actually disappointed in how little time I got to shop, man that was a busy show!

Went out with a uhaul FULL of kits and supplies, went back with just the display case! HOORAY! Well, I did end up with some very nice babies from Matt, along with a spider and super pastell ball python from Mo Perri. I'm really kicking myself for not getting some of those super nice anery aztecs I went to look but they were all put away so fast at the end of the show Maybe next time I guess?!?!

I'll have to try and find some time to dig through my pictures as well!

Very nice to meet so many great herpers!

Rebecca, five separate times I came with my camera specifically to take your picture at your display. It's like you knew I was coming and was bolting while I was en route. Only one time were you there, but the 15 people infront of the display prevented me from scoring a pic.

Maybe next year...

Lol! Oh well! As you say, maybe next year eh? What a cool show though eh?

Here is a nice pic of Ken I took!

Some more of Mary's beautiful snakes! Thanks Mary, for being the SUPER FRIENDLY person you are!!!

A different view of my tables..

On the second day, since the TV slideshow didn't work <TV didn't like the trip I guess!> and there were a lot less kits, I decided to try and make a "learning center" in the middle of the display! I think it went pretty well, a number of people starting asking about ACR and how it works! Sold completely out of all books but a few copies of Don's!

Great to see more photos of the show - especially that one of Ruth and me - some shocking things that go on at that BBQ!! I don't have my shots uploaded yet - didn't get any as embarrassing as those though.

It was a great show - came home with a lot fewer snakes than I left with - only one new addition - a stunning amel motley jungle corn from Annette. Many babies of ours found new homes though -

Was great to see everyone again - looking forward to next year - even though the drive is a killer!

Simply Amazing!!!!!

How else do you describe the Red Deer Expo?

Yes, we finally reached home late last evening...my bum is so sore!!!!! 60 hours of sitting in a van in 4 days of travel can sure make you realize just how many muscle there are to hurt in your body...

Now my first order of business is to scold Erica...please pass the message on Ken...that's such a horrible picture of Mary! My reaction... was to be expected!

I want to take the time to tell all you folks reading this just how special the Alberta corn breeders are...

Thank you Annette. When I left you on Monday there were tears in my eyes. Your kindness, your generosity, your hospitality and that absolutely awesome (and folks, believe me when I say awesome) collection not only of corns and other colubrids, but pythons and boas as well, was one of the highlights of our trip. Spending time with Annette renewed my passion and love for this hobby; I felt refreshed and alive...and I must admit, very excited about what's in store for 2008. I didn't leave empty handed either...I've added an amel gopher corn for future projects with Ben, and two of the most beautiful hybrids I've ever seen...pics will follow, I promise...of a perfect striped jungle corn male and a beautiful striped super corn.

Mary, you truly are an amazing friend. Mary totally caught me off guard on Sunday morning when she presented me with a golddust male for my collection. The wee little one is in shed but even so, I am so excited about this wonderful gift. You've always been a supporting hand for me Mary in this hobby; thank you from the depths of my heart.

Matt and Kylie presented me with 3 little 'mysteries' to unravel. Are they or are they not 'snopals'? What fun this little project will be in 3 years when they mature. Oh, by the way, our little non-feeding female took her first meal today...must have been the long ride home on a bumpy road that did it!!!! Matt, Kylie...she's ate one pink and was soon out searching for more. The other 2 will have to wait until tomorrow with the rest of the crew. Thank you both again...you two will be the future of this hobby here in Canada one day; of that I am convinced. Keep up the good work!

Ken and Erica...what little sweeties those hets are. Now that I've had a closer look, I'm loving the red already peeking thru those saddles. Proving out those possbile hets of hypo, lavender, and motley will be so exciting to me in the years to come. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to have these triple hets to work into my lavender projects in the future.

And I want to extend a sincere thank you to a lurker on our boards...Jerine Lozanski. Thru Matt, Jerine contacted me in regards to a neurologically challenged corn hatchling...Canada's first known native 'stargazer'. To support the work of cleaning/identifying our Sunkissed genes here in Canada, Jerine graciously consented to relinquishing 'Star' to me in the hopes she can help us with this project. I truly feel honoured with the trust she has placed in me with this gift.

To all my customers, old and new...thank you. Your support is so appreciated. HanneysCorns was a dream not so many years ago; you have made it a reality with the trust you have placed in me. I am ever grateful to not only the Albertans this weekend, but to all Canadian cornfolk everywhere we have travelled this past year. You renew my excitement and passion at every show we attend... ...Thank You All.

Well, I hope I didn't forget anyone. I look forward to August 2008 when I can see you all again. Friendships are forged each and every time we travel; I consider myself truly blessed to have the opportunity to meet you all in 'real time'.

Ruth

I'm glad you made it back safely, Ruth. It was a pleasure to speak with you once again at the show.

I'm glad that little non-feeder ate for you. I was going nuts with it trying to get it to eat.

This evening we fed all of our remaining hatchlings. Your live feeder Ultramel ate frozen thawed without hesitation and the other Ultramel we got from you ate two pinkies and looks like it could have handled another two. She is just massive!

I went all-out with your pinkie washing technique today and 19 out of 25 live-feeders switched as a result of it. We even got one of the non-feeders that we picked up from Troy (who had gone over 2 months without a meal) to eat frozen thawed, just by washing it's pinkie. I had no idea that technique could work so well.

I'm already looking forward to next year's show so I can speak with you again and learn some more tips. I'm sure Walter would be happy to squeeze you guys into the Edmonton Show...what's another 60 hour round trip anyway?

Thanks again for everything,

Matt
