Walter finally got around to creating a website for the 2008 Red Deer Reptile Show. The dates this year will be August 23 and 24 at Westerner Park in Red Deer.

LOL. I don't even know if Steve is going to let me go to the show in Edmonton in May. He has learned that I am not to be trusted

. Now..if we buy a house before then and have a "snake room" then I could probably get away with a lot ....

I hope everyone’s getting ready for the BIGGEST SHOW & SALE in Alberta, only 23 more sleeps to go! I’m so looking forward to seeing old friends and meeting some new ones. So far there are 36 Vendors on the list, with several more to be added I’m sure. Hope to see you there.

Ok..so I know I haven't been on here much.....But quick update regarding the Red Deer show

. Yeah...We bought a house in April ..tee..heee...heee. And now I have a snake room. Needless to say I came home with a BRB. Not from Annette though

But he is cool none the less. His name is Ruben. Steve bought a Kenyan Sand Boa (

) named Sandy. (Hey? The 6 year old named it

)I will DEFINITELY be at the Red Deer show. We have a "snake pit", as our friends like to call it, now. So there will be some more purchases made in Red Deer, I am sure. Namely a caramel het amel stripe. Or perhaps maybe a caramel stripe...who knows

. Annette had some beautiful Miamis in Edmonton in May...I almost came home with a pair....It was hard...I was almost past the temptation when BAM! There was the Rainbow. ah....I think I need therapy!

Hi! Well, I would vend with my dad (he bred red footed tortoises) at every single TARAS show he went to when I was a little girl. So I have a general understanding of what it's like to be standing behind that table answering questions to every passer-by, but to be able to have my very own table this time - and with snakes, not tortoises - will be fairly different.

I'll be having an adult breeder male and some corn hatchlings for sale (this year isn't that exciting just some normals, but amels, aneries, snows, butter, butter mots, hypos, lavs, and hypo lavs are in the future! Woohoo!).

I'm doing quite a bit of preparation by building display cages for the hatchlings and having a binder wih pictures of my set-ups, eggs, pippies, shedding, etc., as well as information pages of each of my keepers (name, gender, sire/dam, history, genetics, belly/head/pattern/full body pictures).

I'll also be having a couple old reptile magazines, books, and assorted sizes of driftwood. In addition, I'm going to set up a naturalistic 20gallon vivarium display tank with the very first snake I ever produced (Tiki's an anery zigzag and an absolute sweetheart!).

I am SO excited for this show and to talk to other breeders.. can't wait (as you can probably tell)!!!!

It is about the biggest show for western Canada featuring all types of reptiles and with only a few days to go you will know first hand.
