Daytona - 2007

I know it's a little early but I thought I would through it out there any way. Who's making plans to go to the 2007 National Reptile Breeders' Expo? Lara and I have made plans to be there and just wanted to see who else is making plans to be there. After we went last year, for the first time, we decided to make it a yearly trip. The Corn snake get together for dinner was icing on the cake... we really enjoyed meeting face to face with everyone. We're looking forward to seeing the people from last year and many new faces this year.

Vinny,
I have thought about starting this thread at least once a week since I saw the dates for this years show get posted.
Joe and I will definately be there. I have already requested that Friday off of work so we can get out there Friday night and be ready bright and early Saturday morning. I have our hotel booked and everything already!!

Last year was also our first year and I still talk about it all the time. What an amazing experience - all the vendors and animals available was just beyond anything my imagination could conjure up and as you said - the dinner afterwards was awesome. It was great to meet everyone and talk shop over dinner as well as getting to know people a little more outside of the hobby.

I know in chat on Sunday night Don Soderberg said he was planning on being there unless something really drastic happened. I have to admit he was one of my favorite parts of dinner. What a completely amazing individual!!

I think this year can be even bigger and better than last year especially if we start talking about it early like this and getting people excited about going and meeting everyone.

I know that there are a few people in particular that I am hoping can make it down as I am dying to meet them and they know who they are!!

Same here... I couldn't wait to post about going this year. We're actually going the week before and making it our "big" vacation for the year.

Don was so funny at the dinner. Some of the stories he told were great. It was so cool to talk to everyone in person and get to know them a little better.

Last year I didn't know what to expect or who we would meet. This year we have a little better idea. We're looking forward to seeing you and Joe again. I agree about having a bigger group this year. Hopefully we can eat at the same place too. That was some good food... at least I thought so .

Very cool Jeff. It was fun stopping by your table last year and talking to you about the Lavas and vanishing stripes. Maybe this year you can make it to the dinner.

Man, it seems like every year I say "next year". I really hope to make it someday. I've had so many financial set backs the last six months that it seems impossible to go this year. The only thing that could get me there is if all my high end projects do well and if they all actually sell for good prices. Heh and sell before August. Even then I sappose it will probably be too late or at least much more expensive to book at that time.
Any travel people out there able to set me up for a Cinder or two. I know for one person it wouldn't be that expensive, but I'm pretty sure Jeram and my son, Devan would want to go also. So it's an automatic trip for 3. I don't know, maybe I should ask them how they would feel about me going solo. I'd hate to hurt the feelings of my two favorite guys.

I've got my vacation put in already for that time I'll be gone. So plans are well under way for going. And credit cards are paid off, and car will be paid off in May, and nice size tax return is due back within the month... yeah, I'm all set! I'm looking forward to meeting everyone, IF I can get past that problem of being shy and not knowing what to say other than, hello... LOL! My goal is to buy no snakes, buy lots of books, and take tons of pictures. And chit chat with everyone!

Wonder if I'll stick to any of them...LOL!

This is a good thread, I kept putting off a trip to Daytona for years. And now I'm finally going to go. I keep harassing a certain someone else I'm riding down with all the time. What route, don't you think this is faster, how long will it take, will we need... anyhow...I'm already excited...and it's many months away yet!
