Bliss & Saber...Lavas in our Future.

Originally from Joe Pierce's stock, Bliss, an Amel Lava (Lavamel) and Saber, an Anery, het lava came to find a home here thru a collector in the U.S. who was forced to downsize due to personal reasons. Since I am really interested in working with the hypomelanistic family of genes, I jumped at the opportunity to add these two to our collection. Both are '05 models.

We've all noticed subtle changes as our hatchlings, with each shed, colour up; but these two have simply shocked me. Each shed has made a substantial difference in colouration with both Bliss and Saber. She brightens in reds, he lightens with gray.

It will most likely be 2009 before these two are up to breeding size; although at the rate they are downing rat fuzzies, '08 could be a possibility. Until then, I'll just patiently wait and enjoy watching them mature.

Thanks Arjan, I've been wondering too. Well, I'll have to wait for a few years to find out for sure. His head and neck region are very light, but his lower area is a tad darker. I don't know if that's the 'yellow' that causing the upper body to look so much lighter.

Here's a pic I got when Saber decided he'd had enough of the camera. I didn't post it above because he started to burrow, but you can see he's a little darker along his body...
