It is still happening here on my part.........but usually when I turn the laptop on the next day, it is back to zero. Sometimes it even does it during the day if i close out my browser and come back a few hours later. This is what it is currently showing after being on for 3 hours this morning.

I thought that might it too Nancy, but when I pulled it up just now, There were supposed to be about 167, only showed me 53 threads and then when I was checking to see if this thread was on the new post list count it wasn't there, but there are two new posts in it. So, I guess this thread doesn't count? j/k...

It's just odd that I wasn't having trouble with such a large discrepancy before. I understand that some of them are all on one thread, but some threads that have new posts aren't showing up at all. Like this one did today. If I hadn't come looking specificully for this thread today, I would have never known there was new posts on it because it wasn't on the new post count.
