Removing pictures from my message display

Hello all. Great site here.

1 question though. I am pretty proficient at adding pictures to my threads, and have been using the [img ][/img] codes for quite some time at various forums.

Here however, after I preview my post, the pictures actually appear within my message box. I want to continue to view other's pictures in their threads, and I want others to see my pictures, but while I type a message with pictures, is there any way to leave my pictures in [img ][/img] form in my message box while on my preview post page?

What's this "Automatically Parse Links in Text" check box I see at the bottom of my screen? I tried checking, and unchecking it, but it doesn't seem to be what I am looking for.

When you see the pictures in your message box, look to the very upper right corner of the box surrounding your message and smilies. There is a yellow star. Just above that, is a small box that has A/A. Click that, it switches the editor mode and brings you back to showing your img tags.
