Hi, I know I'm probably posting something that is common knowledge, but I don't know what to do since I've never bred corn snakes before. I have an 03 female ghost I just bought about a month ago (5-6-07) and she has only fed once (a live rat pinkie) about 2 weeks ago). The other problem is that she was bred right before she was shipped, so I'm worried about that too. Do you have any feeding tips? I've tried about everything *I* can think of (I can't quite bring myself to fresh kill [brain] a mouse though, as I have kept rats as pets and they are too similar...*sigh* I'm a sissy). But I've cut up pinkies and scented them, and tried live young mice and rats. So far only one confirmed meal. She's good size, but I don't think she's heavy with eggs. I think she's just stressed from the shipping. All my other snakes on her rack are eating just fine so I don't think its heat or anything like that. I know (have read) that females will go off their food when they are breeding, but if she has been bred shouldn't she be eating alot? I can post pictures if need be. I only try about once a week as not to stress her. Thanks for any help. I've tried mice, rats, rat pinks, mice fuzzies, mice pinks- and a combination of the above live (only the small ones). I've also tried f/t cut open. And teasing. And leaving overnight. Anything I'm forgetting?
