Today was the day!! :)

My husband and I made the leap and bought our first corn snake today! We decided to name him Severus Snape from the Harry Potter books. We figured since Snape is from Slytherin it made sense. We plan to call him "Sevy" for short.

He (or she, we didn't get the sex, sorry) is about 9 inches long or so. Sevy is dark compared to the other corns he was housed with at Petco. Has a bit of orange in small circles on his back and a orange diamond shape on his head. I will defintely take a picture so you can help me better tell what kind of corn snake he is. I would love to know!!

He last feeding was on Monday. The employee told us to feed him weekly with one pinky. I wanted to run this by you and see what others thought. We decided to use frozen food to make it safer for Sevy. Not to mention it's a lot easier to store (and less smelly). We plan to make his next feeding on Sunday because this would be easier for us. Mondays would be too hectic because we both work and our schedules get late sometimes.

His behavior and temperment seem great! We were expecting Sevy to stay in the hides we bought him all night . But within a few minutes, he came out and checked everything out, smelling everything that he passed. We were so suprised how curious he was rather than being shy. He was laying in a new tree we bought like he was relaxing on a remote island. lol He is so cool!!

Anywho, I wanted to just give a quick update. I will try to get a picture tomorrow or Sunday. Talk to you later!!
