There are several methods. Several hundred methods to get Sevy to eat. One method I've found works extremely well and is little trouble at all is to serve a pinky thawed for the first few times, and just stick Stuart (habit) and dearest Severus inside a container. After about thirty or so minutes, check. Sometimes leaving them in overnight helps. Just make sure to have air holes and the like, so he can breathe. =)
It's a lot less stressful, and spending a few hours or so in a container won't hurt the snake at all. If the snake is worried about other presences being in the room staring him down whenever he eats, he probably won't eat. Leave him alone, and keep on trying. As well, staying in a container with food all night and nothing to do but digest generally is a good plan. The digestion has to come /after/ he eats it, though. =) Which means he'll eat it.
Keep trying, and I'm sure you'll get it. Some of the methods like braining and the like are just grotesque, and I believe aren't needed when there's much simpler methods. Another thing is true that it's generally better when warmer, but not hot. Also, perhaps you should feed him around dusk (sorry if you have been and I overlooked it =P) instead of the middle of his sleeping hour during the daytime. ^.^
Good luck and God bless,
