My PRIZED lav blood escaped a month and a half ago. I turned the three rooms in my basement upside down the whole time, to no avail. She is a "hider". She doesn't like to be out and about. So I was thinking I need to set a trap, and it dawned on me use a minnow trap. I bought one, put a live mouse in it and set it in a room for 24 hours before checking on it. The second room I had it in on the second night I caught her.
I think having the mouse in open air helped attract her and being able to see the mouse move from any angle in the room also helped. I was surprised the mouse never found it's way out. That was my number one concern, but it never did. Here are some pictures.
