I still have questions. I had 9 yearlings come in. I have kept them completely separate from my others they are downstairs and everyone else is upstairs. The other day I swore I heard someone sneezing..yes you heard me right sneezing. After the third time I convinced myself I wasn't losing my mind, and started franticly picking up snakes and listening. Sure enough 2 of my new boys are rattly but there noses look fine. I moved them away from the rest and turned there heat up and they are gently cooking at 90 degrees. I keep hand sanitizer right next to there cages, and told the kids to use it liberally after they are done handling the "new" snakes. Tonight I went upstair to visit my babies up there and 2 of them are rattling. Downstairs they come and they are in a different room then the 2 new ones. I cranked the heat. Now I am worried 4 sick snakes. I called my horse vet (I know it sucks I don't have a choice he is the best vet in town) yes I called him at 9:30 PM on a Sunday and at home..lol..I'm sure he loves me. He told me what I already knew that no one in town works with reptiles(how do they get through vet school?), but he would be happy to "try" to give them antibiotics. *bad word-bad word* I think I am on my own here. Anyone have any advice? I am running out of rooms. I don't want to put all of the sick snakes together because I just received the 2. How can I stop this? Am I doing the right thing with the little treatment they are getting? They are all eating well but 1 of the new boys that is sick looks like he is not digesting very well, could this be because he isn't feeling good? His belly is still very round after 3 days. Sorry I would just take them to the vet but I'm scared he might kill them by accident..lol. I would appreciate any help I can get.
Thanks,
