This boy sure take his time to grow. I can't wait to breed him to his mate in 2008.

Thanks Mary. I really love the colors of both my kisatchies and this is why I can't wait for 2008. Since my female will be big enough this year, I will try to breed her with my lava male. I am really curious to see what will be the results. The intense colors of the lava with the metallic colors of my female. Should be fun to watch.

Unhappy

Wow! Kisatchies are GORGEOUS, and yours is exceptional! Just a question though...aren't they now considered Pantherophis slowinskii? According to Don Soderburg:

"These have recently been described as a new species. They were formerly considered intergrades between corns and Emory's (great plains) rat snakes. They are still popularly considered to be a corn snake. Kisatchies are primarily found in Louisiana and extreme E. Texas. These are one of the darkest examples of the corn snake types. Most of ours exhibit "metallic" colors."

(quoted from here: http://www.cornsnakes.net/otherprice.php3)

So wouldn't this be like crossing to an emoryi, with the offspring considered hybrid? Not meaning to start anything, just tossing the idea out there...

Thanks,
~Christine~

Weird, where did that sad face come from? I didn't even put any smilies in my message! If I were to put one, it would be this one: *grumbles something about insomnia and not being able to edit posts*
