Thought I would post a few updated pics of some different rootbeers. Not dramatic coloration but I love the subtle look of these guys -
These three are first generation emoryi X creamsicle - now 3 years old and will be bred for the first time in 2007 - very consistent clutch. I have not seen an emoryi cross with pronounced saddle borders and think this is something that is characteristic of emoryi crosses. These show a very distinctive brownish coloration, no hint of red or even orange in them. The creamsicles that arise from these will be very interesting and they are possible het hypo too. Lighter background in the male - wonder if that is similar to cleaner coloration in other morphs in males?
first female
second female
male
In contrast this rootbeer is from a creamsicle bred to a sunkissed hypo corn. He has a really full belly here (just fed) but is a very bright orange snake - again minimal saddle borders - is this an influence of the het hypo? or from some residual emoryi influence. Looking forward to when this guy is old enough to breed.
thanks for looking,
mary v.

Hey Mary,
I hope this comes through...having a little trouble.
Great shots.
You did a good job capturing the rootbeer look.
Of course they look even more spectacular in person.
I don't mean to hijack your thread I just thought I would add a couple of shots of A&W.
You should remember him
For sure I do remember him - he is absolutely gorgeous - always great to see more pics of these guys - I never consider it a hi-jack when someone wants to share pictures. Love his head markings - very nice. Would love to see a belly shot of him too - I find a lot of mine with reduced head markings have reduction in belly checkers too.

Cool rootbeers, y'all. You definitely need to keep this thread updated as you make more of 'em, creamsicles/rootbeers were what first inspired me to buy my second snake, an amel, to breed to my then-presumed-to-be-female meahllmorum. I found out he was a male this last summer, but who knows, maybe I can breed him into some cool project later on.
Here's a quick picture of the guy, even though he's not a rootbeer:

I can wait Jimmy - plenty of time to disturb him when he wakes up - between engagements!
Carlos - great looking emoryi - very brown tones on her. I am consistently seeing very thin borders on all emoryi and most emoryi crosses and starting to think it may be a feature that is consistent. Always great to see more pics of these guys - whether pure or crosses - great for comparions.

Wow, I've never hatched or had any rootbeers. So, I've really enjoyed this thread. It's nice to see the color variation in them. They're all very nice looking snakes.
