Yesterday morning arrived my latest and LAST addition to my collection. After her, I now have just about everything I've ever wanted in pets (Except one of those Cinders, of course!)
Anyway, here she is, all 397 grams of her!
We named her Jormungandr because she's the biggest snake I have right now. Or... rather... a feminized nickname version: Jora.
She is a 50/50 Amelanistic corn X Albino Banded California King. She's not the most beautiful snake out there, but since the moment we pulled her out she's been nothing but an ABSOLUTE sweetheart. Laid back, easy going? That's Jora. <3
Her previous owner had bred her to a bloodred corn at the end of May. So my fingers are crossed that she's gravid. She has clutched before for 15 healthy eggs. I don't think my bloodred, Hando, is up for such a challenge, so I hope the first bloodred took and soon I'll have my FIRST CLUTCH!
Supercorns het diffusion, if I can remember that's what the 75/25s are...
I'm soooo happy and fulfilled! Now if rodentpro's shipment will get here sooner rather than later...
Big shout outs to Traxler's Pet Store for hooking me up with their old 10 gallon aquariums for $3 each!
The female could have made a short snack of him if she wanted to.
But - if she mated, she's probably good to go already. Shipping is stressful, she may not react too kindly - who knows.
She's beautiful - I love the head pattern - it looks like it has some influence from both species in her head pattern.
Heh, yeah that pic is pretty neat. XD No, it wasn't his size, I think he's big enough now. Sometimes I have him out with my older female, Dragon, and he doesn't react the same way. My other male, Rave, seems eager to meet her, lingering and sniffing one spot where she's been for minutes at a time. Hando would just rather run away.
I just get the feeling he doesn't think he's ready yet.
I'm not sure if I should even try it. As you said, shipping is stressful, but how long do I have if she's *not* gravid?
I'm not terribly worried. Everyone will just have to wait a bit for their Supercorns. XD

If she does not appear to be gravid after her next shed - try again then.
How long you have depends upon the female - but sometimes even August is not too late.
Since she has some Cal King in her, make sure she is well fed a day or two before you try.

Will do... thanks for the advice. Ironically she seems less likely to eat anyone than one of my other corns... but you're right, ya never know. XD
Is it true the feeding response (or eating right before) sometimes stimulates a breeding response? I read that somewhere while researching breeding...
Jora's going into blue. I weighed her today and she seems to have lost weight since being with me, which is not surprising to me as she hasn't accepted food for a few weeks. She looks no bigger than when she arrived... Her spine is still very pronounced near the thicker end of her body, but I can imagine, looking at her, her eggs if she does lay them couldn't be very big at all....
If she was bred end of march, now is the perfect timing for her to be getting ready to lay.
Eggs often expand after they are laid - and it's amazing how much baby snake can fit into an egg.

She shed without a problem sometime last week, I think Thursday, and now she's eating heartily. I'm feeding her small meals. She's not doing any roaming... and though I have seen her burrowed under the moss in her lay box, she always goes back home...
I'm still hopeful, but I'm wondering if the bloodred didn't take.
