Interesting to read the story of these guys. The coral avalanche is an absolute stunning snake!
Congrats on your forum Lex! Looking forward to see and read more of your amazing collection!
Cheers Rosier,
Thanks for your compliments on the boy.
The stories will keep on coming...........thanks to Caroline who provided the opportunity for us to inform one another & enjoy our hobby.
B.T.W. have you noticed that the 2007 clutch has been produced?
Right, I shall enter another Reply to Joe..........as I 'timed out' on my last attempt & lost the lot

Wow Lex, this is the first one that I have heard of. Have you heard of any other KNOWN Coral Bloods? Or Hypo Avalanche? Coral Avalanche does sound better, but doesn’t both indicated Amels? I guess there is nothing wrong with that. I think a common name with Raspberry in it would be very appropriate.
That is going to be one stunning ADULT!
Yup Joe...........I was wondering who would notice the missing Amelanistic 'tie-in'.
We knew the Ghost female (Casper) was het. Amelanistic as she produced a number of Coral Snow in her 2002 clutch to the male Ghost het. Amel.
The Anery h. Char, Hypo, Bloodred male was not known to carry this gene until he produced a Blizzard hatchling in the clutch of 2005. This mating was to the female Anery h. Char, Hypo, Bloodred.
It was, certainly, an extra bonus that both Ghost poss. het. Bloodred progeny, also, carried the Amelanstic gene............proven out by the production of multiple Coral Snow hatchlings & 1 Coral Avlanche in the 2006 mating.
ha, ha.........I have to admit that the use of the Raspberry Ripple is just for fun. The thought of the male maturing into a Pink snake is, perhaps, not so appropriate. It is not very masculine after all
Thanks for your congratulations.
I have no further details on any other KNOWN Coral Avalanche at this time.

Very interesting lineage and so nice to hear a full record - especially when there is such a great suprise outcome!! Great looking male - he is going to be gorgeous as he grows up. Congrats and great to see pics of more of your guys.
Thank you Mary,
It's certainly good to be able to give a history of the breeding & place these details in one area of the Forum.
Yup, the boy sure was a surprise. I was more than pleased to confirm the possible inheritance of the Bloodred trait, however, the outstanding results were far more than I had ever imagined.

The Coral Avalanche is completely stunning Alex!!!!

That's cool! You should keep a progression thread for him.
Thanks Chuck...........hmmm, a progression thread would entail 'digging out' a multitude of previous photo's. However, it's certainly worth the effort. Good suggestion.

Wow... absolutely stunning snake!
Thank you Joni,
I am really looking forward to seeing how he matures.......&, of course, his future introduction to the ladies

Wow he is stunning, have you any out of the egg shots.
Have you a waiting list for his offspring yet.
No 'out of the egg' shots Paul, I realized there was something quite different with this hatchling as the nose was extremely white, however, he played the 'hide when open' game whenever I opened the egg box lid.
With regard to offspring.............he's only 7 months of age, so, perhaps 2008 will allow one breeding, dependent on his size & weight.
The good news is that the repeat mating has produced a favourable clutch.
The bad news is that, yes, there is a 'Waiting List' for these hatchlings.
Coral Avalanche; Ghost Bloodred; Ghost p.h. Bloodred & Coral Snow p.h. Bloodred were all produced in 2006.
We shall see what the ratio is in a couple of months
