Raspberry Ripple

In the beginning there was Orion..........one of two hatchling Pewter males Imported from Serpenco in 1997.

These guys were mated, in due course, to various females over the years & remained in the ownership of a good friend here in the U.K.

One male was mated to a Ghost female in 2001 & I aquired 1.1 Anerythristic het. Charcoal, Hypo, Bloodred.

Yes, I know. This mating should not have produced these hatchlings. The progeny should have resulted in 100% het. Anery, Char, Hypo, Bloodred.

We will, for now, assume that the Pewter male is het. Anerythristic. Even so, the ratio should have produced some normal hatchlings. All 9 hatchlings were identical.

In July 2005 I was fortunate in obtaining one of the brothers.

The 1st picture is Orion in '05, the 2nd is the boy taken April '07:-

Then in 2003 I decided to utilize the potential of the male het. Pewter - the female was too young to consider in a Breeding Plan at that time.

Thus, we mated the male Anery h. Char, Hypo, Bloodred x Ghost female (Casper).

The photo's of the male are when he was 2years of age. The Ghost female is no longer in our Collection &, therefore, an up date cannot be produced.

These 'guys' produced an even clutch of 50% Anery & 50% Ghost hatchlings.

Male het. followed by Ghost female:-

Yes, the Ghosts proved out to be het. Bloodred.

In 2006 we produced our 1st Coral Avalanche (Hypo+Anery+Amel+Bloodred).......perhaps he has inherited the Charcoal gene, or am I being too optimistic

Here is Icarus, photos taken 11/04/07, age 6 months:-

I so admire that Coral Avalanche, Lex...simply a stunning snake.

And yes, Raspberry Ripple is the perfect caption!

Welcome to the neighbourhood by the way. It's great having you here. I look forward to seeing many more pics of your beautiful corns.

Thanks 'guys'

Thank you for your welcome Ruth........most appreciated.

As for the caption........I was waiting to see which colour would over-ride the other, at the moment it seems to be that the Pink has it. However, his lineage is so changeable & he has many years to provide some variability.

Wow Lex, this is the first one that I have heard of. Have you heard of any other KNOWN Coral Bloods? Or Hypo Avalanche? Coral Avalanche does sound better, but doesn’t both indicated Amels? I guess there is nothing wrong with that. I think a common name with Raspberry in it would be very appropriate.

That is going to be one stunning ADULT!
