Guelder-rose

o.k...........a little up date on the Ghost Bloods, full siblings of the Coral Avalanche.

There were 3 females from the 2006 clutch of 15 eggs. I have retained two, the other resides with a friend.

The excellent warmth of the day encouraged a tour of the garden.

1st - the dark female:

This lady has become more attractive as she grows. The outdoors photo's highlight her pale'ish colouration.

It's going to be fun trying to find an unrelated male to breed with her in a few years.

This female just fascinates me, her colouration continues to alter as she matures.

Very lovely - like the effect of diffusion with the ghost - and great to see outdoor shots,

Yeah, thanks for the compliments on these ladies........it's most appreciated.

Arjan.........

the 2nd lady is ace, but, there was not a noticable difference in these two when they were neonates.

There's quite a marked difference between each female, yet, both from the same clutch. It's easy to see how selective breeding can become a huge influence in any cultivar dependent upon what feature may appeal to the breeder at any given time.

I do prefer the 2nd Ghost female as mentioned in the intro. 'my prize'. I consider the pink saddles together with the, almost, Ice white background to be a desirable feature. However, another may choose her sibling & concentrate on the more bold markings.

Wow, they are both absolute beautiful! The second being my favorite, love the pink and white colors on her. For me ghostbloods are one of the most striking morphs around, cant wait to see what you produce this year, good luck!!

Yah........you are not the only one to be impatient with what can/may be produced this year, there's a whole bunch of us want the hatchlings NOW

Cheers for the 'thumbs up' on the 2nd lady, she has always been the most desirable in my mind. I was not prepared for this display of pink that has developed over her dorsal area, a very attractive feature which I hope to encourage in future breedings.
