O.K. I have adopted the word from the Butterfly genus.
These guys, certainly, deserve to be named the Butterflies of the Honduran Collection.
We took the opportunity to utilize the welcome sunshine of the day........&, also, the use of the Bird Feeding station for our photographic endeavours
1st Up - The Albino male.
This guy is the more usual form of the albino bred in the Honduran.
He enjoyed the new climbing pole which, he assumed, had been placed in the garden for his own pleasure.
And a close shot of the boy.
He is unrelated to the following two females.
2nd Up - The het. Albino female.
I have, always, admired this lady...........there is something attractive about her together with the fact that she is a full sibling to the 3rd animal in this photoshoot.
And another tongue shot.
3rd Up - The Jewel in the Crown. Tangerine Albino female.
This lady, without a doubt, has some interesting properties to pass on to her progeny...........I am still debating her classification.
A close shot.
As there was no male siblings in the clutch it will be some time before we can reproduce this interesting form of the Albino.
I am still considering if I should breed these guys this year, or wait until 2008.
Very, very awesome Lex..........totally different contrasting looks going on there with those three. Will be very nice to see some results down the road from those pairings (if you do pair them up). I would have to agree, The Jewel should certainly be wearing a Crown, she is gorgeous.
Thanks for sharing with us.

Thanks Galen,
Yes, the 2nd female is a stunning one indeed............cannot decide if I should pair her with the 'usual' Albino male, or go with something that will create some interest in the f2. i.e. perhaps the Ghost male would offer a bit of variation down the line?
I shall post up pics of the Ghost when he has sloughed. You can add to my indecision by offering an opinion to the potential mating.
Wow Lex! I love the Albinos Your ahead of me in the breeding plans as I have a lot of hets, but the Ghost to Albino crossing is a great one. I bred my het Albino to my Hypo Tangerine female, as well as to a het Ghost, just to see if there is any unknown hets, and hopefully be able to produce a Hybino down the line. I also bred a Tri Color het Albino to het Albino in the hopes of producing an animal as stunning as that last one down the line too. It's great to see what they look like as adults,

Hi Captain,
I was hoping that you would cruise by this thread.............you have a lovely collection of Hondos (from what you have posted to date), therefore, I value your opinion on the possible mating of the Ghost male x Albino female.
The Ghost male has been waiting quite some time for a partner as, well you know the story (sold as a female & is actually a male) thus, a period of time has had to elapse before a suitable female is mature for him.
Well, the het. Ghost female is too immature for breeding this year........however, the 'Jewel' may, very well, make up for his period of abstinence.
Beautiful collection of hondos Lex. It never ceases to amaze me the different variations in color that are available in this species.

For sure a very nice set of hets besides the Hybino too, plus in wide white stripe from the het Ghost and the thin from the Tangerine. My dilemma this year was to go for the obvious morph or hets, but figured I have plenty of time to invest in getting some multi het offspring. At least you'll get some awesome Albinos right from the start, lucky...
Stunning group of hondos - love the wide banded look of your tricolor and the albinos are great too. The tangerine girl has very wide light orange bands too - that it a very nice trait.
Certainly the ghost by albino would be great to produce triple hets especially if the ghost has that wide banding pattern as well. I debated doing a breeding for triple hets this year with my albino and ghost, but think I will give her an extra year to grow even though she is 650 grams now.
Look foward to seeing photos of your ghost,
mary v.

........Yes, I think that I may take the 'safety shot' & postpone the breeding until 2008 too, another year for each female to grow will be beneficial for them.
Thanks for your compliments on these guys Mary..........I shall take some up date photo's of the Ghost Hondo when he, finally, relinquishes his old skin.
