Mandarina Minuet

O.K. Galen,

I do hope that you appreciate the 'dance' that I performed in order to provide these photographs, the words 'life & limb' spring to mind.

Really it was not as bad as I suggest.

........and here is the lady when I took her out of her vivarium, albeit in her sphagnum moss box !

One can't be too careful with this girl, she has a habbit of telling me when she is displeased.

I was looking forward to breeding these guys this year...........not so sure she is sufficiently mature.

If not now, then def. 2008

Awesome Lex......just plain AWESOME !!!!

THAT right there is why they are on top of my most wanted list (being a Steeler fan does not hurt it's chances either). When they decide to come down in market value where I won't need a second mortgage....I will pick up 1.1 myself.

Thanks for those pics and please feel free to add more, on my behalf.

(my version of mdorfers )

Thanks Caroline & Galen

So pleased that you both like the 'guys'.........however, MORE photo's would involve that 'life & limb' thang again

The female has reached 450grams & is 5 years of age, therefore, a potential mating may be considered.

Flash is now 10 years of age & I thought he may be a little, shall we say 'passed his prime' ?

But, not so......... the people that I spoke with last year assured me that 10 years is not an ancient Mandarina.

I would love to have some youngsters, but, not at the risk of harming the female - even although she can be a little swine sometimes!

Yes, this species was top of our 'most wanted' list way back............when we found them in the U.K. I could not believe my eyes

Flash is f1 & one would think that he would have the lively temperament, but, not so....yes, he can be a little disgruntled at times, but never displays the absurd behaviour of the female.

Here is the boy, the melanin has become more pronounced as he's matured:

Just look at that eye........excellent camouflage.
