Michelle I hope everything works out for the best. I don't know what disease your husband has, but there are several ways he could look into getting his meds if you lose your insurance and can not get COBRA ( I think that is what it is called). Pharmaceutical companies do have compassionate care programs but it might be that his doc needs to inquire about it and refer him to it. He might have to disclose some financial information.

The other way to do it is to see if there are any investigational trials going on that are recruiting patients. Once someone is part of a study or trial the study drugs and tests etc. are free. The best place to find out about trials would be to inquire at some of the teaching hospitals that have specialty departments that care for your husbands type of illness. There are enough medical schools in the Chicago area so hopefully there will be more than one place to contact.

If I haven't made any sense feel free to email or PM me!

Good luck to both of you in finding and keeping jobs you enjoy.

This may come across as a little cheesy..........but after I heard it on my Ipod this evening while working around the house, you came to mind. A lot of times, I get relief from the outside world through music. I have never met you in person........but to me the forums can be enough of a medium to make friends over the years. The lyrics and overall storyline are about different circumstances from yours, but there are quite a few good lines that would work in your situation. Hope all is getting better for you and your husband.

And if you can stomach the video......this is the only way I could link the song. I don't have a server or I would just upload the song only. Anyway, get ready for some Sleaze Cheeze.

MAN..........this music genre rocks.

Sorry to hear

I've really admired your animals over the last couple of years. I'm really sorry to hear how things are going for you. I once had the pleasure of working at a company that had similar management practices and favoritism in place. I SOOO hope your husband can just find something better. I don't know about his illness, but I know that whatever it is, he doesn't need this added stress. BTW, I am now only weeks away from the end of a one year trial (through a temp agency) at my job. I was supposed to have an interview LAST Wednesday...then when I show up for it, they tell me they moved it to the following Wed. Thats when I see the HUGE pile of applications on the HR ladies desk. Maybe its nothing, but it didn't look too promising to me. Starting to think I was milked out of a years worth of hard work for no pay-off. Oh well, Whattaya do? I hope things turn around for you. Take care.

Scott
