2007 breeding season is just around the corner...

Howdy folks,

The corns came up on Valentines Day and are eating great. I have a lot of exciting groups this year and should be producing some fun combos. Some of the regulars that are going again are of course the lava and ice motley groups as well as the charcoal and phantom motley pairings and this year I may actually release one or two instead of holding everything back. I should be producing some nice lavas and ice ghosts as well.
I also have my golddust motley and ultramel motley busy again this year with butters and amel motleys as well as a few others.

As far as new breedings...

One of the big new breedings this year is my charcoal and phantom stripe project. I've got 5 females so my odds should be pretty good that I'll hit some neat snakes. I've also got some cool ultramel combos including my ultramel het lavender to some opals. To add a little fun to that project, I'm using opals I got from Rich Z that are pos het, het, or homo caramel...but he didn't know as they do not look a whole lot different than opals...although a few are interesting to say the least. I've also got my blood het motley going to a few different motleys (ghost motley, anery motley, butter motley). My caramel stripe will be busy with a lava and sunkissed and I'll be doing the same thing with a Pewter male.

Another big project for me this year is the breeding of a 'het patternless' to a 'het patternless' to see if I get patternless. I outcrossed my snow lavender patternless to a butter and a het butter a few years back and now those guys are big enough to breed. It'll be the first breeding of outcrossed stock to see if I can recover the patternless or if it'll be more striped. For those of you who have been following the patternless thing, it isn't quite nailed down whether they are selectively bred or more of like a gene that is passed on. Patternless X patternless = patternless...but the rest of the combos are unknown. I'll also be taking one of my lavender 'het patternless' to a stripe (probably to the caramel stripe) to see how the stripe X patternless turns out.

And of course I have a bunch more but a lot of what is left is producing the headache game....HETS! I may have a few neat hets for sale but who knows? I will most definitely have the out of egg sale again this year for normals and some of the more common possible hets so stay tuned to see what pops up here. I'll start posting pics when the action begins.

And for those 'other' snake lovers:
I should be producing more leucistic black rats and hets.

And..in the kingsnake area I'm working with amel desert kings, amel goini king, mocha kings and some neat speckled X high white cal kings I did a few years ago and now the F1's are ready for action.

And don't forget the pythons...I should have some CB ball pythons (pos het albino, pos het pied) as well as some albino and het blood pythons.

And if I am really lucky and daring enough to pair up the hots....a few rattlesnakes (timbers, westerns) and maybe my monocled cobras.

Over and out...

Awesome projects! I'll definitely be stopping by to see what's happening at Mohr Snakes. I hope all goes well, and can't wait to hear about the Charcoal and Phantom Stripes.
