HUGE congratulations. How fun!!! Betcha it was tough for you to head off to work this morning. That's a cute little ghost. Really sweet. And, as always, nice picts. I'm envious of that great big window in your snake room that you use as a light source.
My first clutch is due any day. They can take their time though...the wood for the new racks got cut this weekend but not assembled. If they hatched today, I'd have nowhere to put them.

That nice big window is a fluorescent daylight bub with a diffuser over it! It was raining and yucky all day yesterday. Actually the photo in my hand was taken in our sunroom before it got too cloudy yesterday. I used the light for the pippie shot.
You still have a little time to build your rack. Even if they pip today they will not be out until tomorrow and you can always just put them in deli cups. They do fine in there.
Hee hee, sure fooled me with the daylight bulb! I use those, what are you using for a diffuser?
I know I can put them in deli cups but my problem is I have no place to put the deli cups, either! The incubator is brim full of eggs and every rack spot is taken, even on top of the racks. If they come before next weekend (first clutch was laid April 10, incubating at 82 on the nose) they might have to stay in a family box for a few days.
Three of Pimento and Chili's babies were out this morning. I can't get over how much orange they have already. I will try and get photos tonight. At some point I will have to concentrate on my job again! Oh why oh why can't I win the lottery and be a stay at home Mom who breeds snakes!
Cohoe's eggs are almost done pipping. I have at least one dead in the egg. The egg was shriveled up and hard so I decided to see what was in it expecting to find a hard goopy mass. To my surprise it was a perfectly formed hatchling that was dead and the yolk had hardened. Very sad. I couldn't bring myself to take photos especially since my daughter was in tears after I explained to her that one of the coral snows was deformed and would be put down. The hatchling has a few kinks and its cloaca is closed. You can see the bladder - it looks like a blister on the ventrum right above the tail since it is so full. I have 5 more eggs left to pip but I think they will not and I will find what I found in the other egg I opened tonight. I will wait for about another day and then start making slits. I had a heat spike and it has obviously taken its toll on this clutch. On the other hand I have 20 hatchlings that so far seem fine. Now all they have to do is eat!
