New Snakes....

Last Sunday I was a vendor at the Maine Herpetological Society's yearly expo in Portland, ME. I had a lot of fun and was quite pleased with how it went. At the end of the show I traded for some snakes I have always wanted in my collection, an MBK and an Apricot Pueblan Milksnake. They will just be pets (right?!).

My favorite acquisition though is the snake my family got for me, a large rattlesnake!

Without further ado here is Sunshine, Carmello and my rattler!

Thanks all! Carmello shed tonight and I have to say his orange is a deeper orange now! I know he does not show a lot of red but I just love orange!

The rattler is part of a collection that I am so taken with I think I might sell some through my web site and at shows. Please let me know if you think you would buy something like that (or a gecko, frog, gator, mouse, bat, ant...) for $15 - 30. I'm trying to decide if it is worth investing in buying a lot of them.

I love the orange as well, which is why the Pueblan's and Hondo's always catch my eye... so now we need new pics....

I think selling the metal work animals would be a great idea, but I would work a deal with the creator to direct ship the ones sold on your site, so you won't have to keep inventory that may or may not sell. If they sell well, with plenty of orders, I would request so many of each for a show, with the understanding that whatever didn't sell would be sent back with the check for what did, once again, eliminating inventory... If it's too soon for the person/persons to give you them for a show, then maybe purchase one of each as displays, (a couple of the most popular), and once again, take orders to be direct shipped... Just an idea....

Thanks for the reply. I think that is a great idea but I think this guy is too big to go for that! I might buy a few for the next show I will be at and take it from there. I think once I buy some it will be easier to make a deal with him.

Just getting back on the forums from an overwhelming baby season (it's not over yet but I'm waiting for the mice to thaw) and saw your post...oh my I love the milksnake! And I want a rattlesnake. Did you ever aquire any? Just gotta have one. Christmas is coming, maybe I can put in a request to Santa...

Marsha,

Thanks for the post. I am able to sell these metal snakes and other critters. I have not bought any since I did not get my act together to get some for a show I will be doing this weekend! Email me and we can probably work something out!

And I really need to take some new photos of Carmello. He has shed twice for me and is a really stunner. Somehow I will need to find time between soccer, homework, swimming, gymnastics, feeding, working and trying to remember how to just be a human being!
