Hello from Halifax, UK

Hi all, Ilive in Halifax, West Yorkshire in the UK and I currently own 2 corn snakes and I am temporarily caring for a third.

Squishy is a normal, her last shed measured 25 inches (50g) and she's a treat to own, wonderful to handle, never had a problem eating, (she even eats when blue!) nothing phases this girl(?), she's already in a three foot tank and has plenty of hiding places so she's taking it all in her stride!

Fisk is an Anerythristic Type A, his last shed measured 23 inches (24g) but he's much slimmer than Squishy as I have had problems with his feeding. Fisk has a habit of re-gurging his meals, it was much worse to begin with, but after months of working with him, (reducing prey size, not handling, longer gaps between meals etc) I had 6 successfull feeds in a row after his last shed! Unfortunatly I think I was too excited and started handling him again, (two short handling times) and the next meal was a re-gurge, aaargh, so it's back to the drawing board...

I am also currently 'baby sitting' a baby Amelanistic, who's last shed measured 15 inches. She is a surprise birthday present for a friend of mine who has become obsessed with corns ever since I got mine. I'll be handing her over this weekend and she's feeding and shedding fine, (although she's so damn small and fast it's a challenge to handle her at the mo!) so I jope all will go well!

Hello and Welcome Claire (or is it Duk?)....hehe

Sounds like you've got your hands full. Any idea why your snake regurgitates so?

Good Luck and Enjoy!

It's Claire, and the re-gurger is much better now. Because she is capable of holding down food, (my best so far is 6 in a row) I don't think there's anything wrong internally, I think she's just VERY easily stressed. So far if I keep her on large pinks, (she should be able to take a fuzzy) only once a week, (even though she poos after 3/4 days) and leave her with no handling for 5/6 days I seem to have her eating much better. She's slowely putting weight on now, and the last time she re-gurged I put down to her going blue the next day, so fingers crossed we'll be ok from now on.

And hi ballpiefun!
