Smile Hello...

I just joined up, and I'm not a "newby" in regards to snakes, but it has been many, many years since I last owned a snake (I think I was 10 when I had my last one).

Like I said, many, many years have passed since my last snake, but I talked a friend out of a BEAUTIFUL Charcoal corn snake the other day... offering it a much better home, and lots of attention. He/she (?) was in a medium size aquarium, along with a small king snake and an even smaller rattler. Now my snake has it's OWN home, about the same size as the one it shared with the other 2, and seems pretty happy. I've got a lot to learn about corns yet, but I'm a quick learner, and I've read some info already. It's such a sweet snake, so gentle and inquisitive, and I look forward to many years of friendship with my beautiful snake. No name yet... I think I should figure out it's sex 1st!

It hasn't been fed in a couple of weeks at least, so I'm going to try feeding AFTER I take my 4 yr. old grand daughter home... no reason to freak her out so soon, considering I haven't even gotten her to hold it. But that will change soon enough.

I don't have any pics of my snake yet, mostly because everything I need to take and download are still packed up from my evacuation experience of last week. Ahhh, gotta love SoCal's santa ana winds and the HAVOC they wreak!

I look forward to the help, hints and general info that other members are sure to send my way, and hope you all have a great rest of the day!!

Welcome to the Source and congrats on saving that poor snake from living with a king and a rattler! It would have been someone's meal really soon.

My favorites too! Welcome to the forum and like Tonya said "Be sure to post pics!"
Good thing you got it away from the others - that sounds like a cornsnake nightmare.

Poor kid! It sounds like you saved the little guy! I am fairly new myself but I thought I should say welcome and good save! I second the sentiment that he was going to be somebodies meal. You did good.

Regards,

Laura
