Not trying to be mean......just trying to help. Take the snake outside, in natural light, and take some photos. The indoor shots with flash are "drowning" out the subject and making coloration difficult to see. I would agree so far, does not look like a wild caught cornsnake, thats for sure. Did you ever say where you are located in the U.S.?
From your first post though......you have done an outstanding job so far for someone who has never kept them before. Looks like you studied up on some forum or books at some time. I am afraid though, this might be the first "bite of the bug" and the beginning of a new addiction for you.
Will wait for some more pics.

LOL, you guys have been far from mean! It is already getting dark so I will have to take the pic tomorrow. I never thought of taking it outside, what a good idea!
I'm in maryland. I have a book on corn and rat snakes and she looks like a black rat snake. They get 8' long!!! I can't have a snake that big. Could I put her back in the wild after she has been inside since tues? What do you all think? If I can then I was thinking of buying a corn snake off of here.
Even at 8 ft long, which is pretty much the extreme limit of their size it will still be quite small, they don't get very big around. Also what they meant about moving the pad to the bottom is putting it underneath the tank, I'm not sure if you understood that. Don't put it inside on the bottom, outside on the bottom. I'm no expert but if you're worried that a fuzzy is too big, I was feeding 3 pinks to my corn when he was 15 inches.
This is my first snake. When I told my husband that it might get around 6' long he freaked. I am going to need to know if this is a corn or a rat snake. If a rat snake I will need to either release it back in the wild or give it to someone.
I know the heat pad does on the outside of the tank. The instructions on the heat pad said you have to put a reptile pad then bedding so they won't get burned. When I looked at the reptile pads it said it is NOT to be used with snakes. I did notice that she doesn't borrow in the aspen. Can I put the pad on the outside of the bottom with just bedding?
Here are some more pics. I'm sorry but they are just as bad as the others. I took her outside on our deck. I won't be able to take more because she has already eaten 2 pinkies. With the pinkies, I just want to use what I bought before I go and buy fuzzys. I will get some fuzzys soon.
Yeah you should be fine putting the pad under the tank and then throw some bedding in the tank and it should be fine.
Should be, you'll still need to check the temperature like stated.
What kind of heat pad is it that it says it shouldn't be used with snakes?
Please keep trying to get a clear picture. I REALLY want to see it clearly. It looks very interesting. Has it been identified yet? If not, perhaps a pet store/snake place could help figure out what it is.
Good luck !

I vote black rat. Just so you know, adult corns can get to 6 feet also, so you aren't looking at a much larger snake. A 40 breeder would be a good size for that rat as an adult. Now, I don't want to discourage you from letting it go... black rats are boring to me, corns come in such cool colors.
