Hello from Alberta!

Hi everyone! I figured I'd introduce myself. I'm from Alberta, and I've never owned a snake before. I'd kept Amphibians, maaaany rodents, some invertebrates, lizards, cats, etc, but not a snake! I hope to in the future and I think learning as much about the hobby before getting involved is a good thing in this case.

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum. There's a few Albertan's posting on here...

If you're looking for a wicked selection of corns that'll be available soon, the first reptile show of the year (in Alberta) will be held in Calgary on April 26 and 27. Annette from Wrapped up in Reptiles has a bunch of corns left from last season that I'm sure she'll have for sale at the show. Her corns are amazing!

Augh, see, now I'm sorely tempted...I do plan on going to the Red Deer show when it comes up, but I'm just finishing my last bit of University before graduation and I have to avoid temptation to buy more pets. Have to save up to get an apartment and all that. :/ Darn money, darn temptation...

The Red Deer Show is wayyy better than Calgary. You're definitely better off if you wait until Red Deer. The only problem is that the Red Deer Show is a long way away in August. I wish I had the patience that you have...

Good luck in whatever you do. When you come to the Red Deer Show, be sure to stop by my table and say "hi".

Hello Chilali and welcome!
Research is the way to go...in my opinion there is no silly question; only the one that is never asked! You will find a ton of information here & many willing to offer support. The amount of knowledge from everyone on this site is amazing!
When you do decide to get your first corn....just a warning.....they are addicting!! Bet you can't just have 1...lol

Thanks And thanks to everyone else

Yeah, I found out how addicting pets can be when I first started with Betta's. I fluctuate between four and five, sometimes six when I'm weak and see a pretty face. :P Also why my parents have four cats....ehehe....and I always make a point to thoroughly research anything before I consider it. Just makes it easier in the long run, I find...

And Matt; Its not so much patience as fear for what my Mother would say if I came home with a half a dozen corns and no job. ;D Frozen mice are hard to come by when you normally live in a village of 800 people when not in school. And when I do manage to get to the show, I'll definitely say a Howdy

My mom's actually been bugging me to try out garter snakes to see if I could even handle having a snake. I suppose its an idea. :P Probably fairly boring though...
