I just got a corn snake a week ago, little 3 month old girl from a friend who breeds them. Some great info on this site, thanks for all the good reading! Named the little one Avery, haven't seen her much as we gave her 5 days to settle in and then fed her. Its been 48 hours since she ate, so I'll start handling her daily right away. She is shy and skittish, but very curious.
She is my first corn, although I have experience with other reptiles (she has 3 big brother and sister blue tongue skinks right now).
Thanks! I'm working on getting pics, but I didn't want to stress her too much earlier and today the camera batteries died. So as soon as they are charged...
She's a little normal het snow, 15-16" long - so nothing unusual, but I think she's cute! Seems to be adjusting great, she ate on Wednesday with no hesitation and is very curious and good about handling.
Is this the right place to post pics, or should I start a second thread?
It's nice to see more people from around here. (I'm in Edmonton)
The source is a great place to aquire knowledge, from wonderful people.
Have you joined the reptile society or gone to any of their shows?
Corn snakes are quite an addiction. you can't stop at just one.
hope to see you around

I'm not an ERAS member, mostly because I haven't gotten around to it. I do go to all the shows, and I'm friends with quite a few people involved in it.... eventually I'll get a membership!! Do you post on the ERAS forums as well? If you know them, Avery is a baby from the people that run the ERAS Rescue.
I know that corns are addicting, but I've already got so many lizard plans.... lol... hopefully I can stick with one for a while!
Little Avery is doing great, took 2 pinkies on Monday without any hesitation and seems to have digested nicely so we'll stick with 2. Corns are almost too easy to care for... I like the fact that I can baby my lizards and hand feed them treats and stuff!
Welcome to The Source. She is a very pretty normal. What matters is that you think she is pretty. We all have differing opinions on what a pretty normal is!
